Romans 12:1-2
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The mind is the central information system of the human being, it process and give commands to the other members of our body. Psychologists say that 10,000 thoughts go through the human mind in one day. Small minds discuss about people. Average minds, discuss about events. Great minds, discuss about ideas. Emerson said; Beware of what you set your mind on for that you will surely become.

HOW TO MIND OUR MINDS?

MESSAGE

A. CHECK OUR THOUGHT PATTERN- We are what we think
-Prov 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:
-Tit 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
- If we keep on thinking negative thoughts we will become a pessimist and we can always find reason not to succeed and why things should not happen to us.
- If we keep on thinking evil then we can be it.

A.1 thoughts produce DESIRES.
Pro 11:23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
Mar 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Psa 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

A.2 desire determines our WORDS

Luk 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

A.3 words produce ACTION

A.4 actions produce HABIT

A.5 habit produces ATTITUDE

A.6 attitude produces CHARACTER

B. RENEW OUR THOUGHT PATTERN.

Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

B.1 – By thinking what is good and positive

-Phi 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things

B.2 – By subjecting our thought to the lordship of Jesus.

-2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
-Isa 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Isa 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

B3 – By changing the source of our thoughts.

- Our thoughts are our opinion on something or our response on something based on the information we get from different sources and stored knowledge that we have in our mind.
1. Hearing what is right
2. Reading what is right
4. Watching what is right
4. Associating with right people

BELIEVERS POSITION IN THE BODY OF CHRIST

Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

CONCLUSION:

Do we suffer from Comparisonitis?
One of the most debilitating disease of the modern world.
The tendency to measure ones worth by comparing one self to other people.
Do you find ways to look down on others and think highly of yourself because you enjoy grater abilities, intelligence, status, wealth than they?
Or you look down on your self and envy others because you feel you are not capable, smart, powerful or rich as they?
