Well-supported
by prayers and dynamically serviced by the passionate members of
working committees, the first concert of JCMI’s New Generation
Band, dubbed “The Breakthrough,” has turned out to be
a general success and victory.
The concert’s
primary purpose is to raise funds for the
building vision of the church. From the moment
the fellowship was founded more than 2 years
ago in a house of a member, it has grown speedily
until attendance in Sunday services are big
at times to be accommodated in a rented space
in Clemmons. The event was also a breakthrough
for JCMI’s New Generation Band to perform
in a major concert. The group consists of
young but talented Christian Filipino youths
who possess extraordinary commitment and boldness
to present a big show for the honor and glory
of the Master.
The
concert started at 6:20 pm with an Opening
Prayer led by Pastor Ed Tablason, Pastor
of Triad Journey Fellowship in Winston Salem.
Pastor Edward Pormilos, Associate Pastor
of JCMI, gave the welcome words and event
rationale. Two guest band performers preceded
the main performer. The Oak Ridge United
Methodist Church Band presented first then
followed by the Simply Pinoy Band of Jesus
Our Victory Church in Greensboro. The New
Generation Band performed their first 7
songs with a loud welcome from the audience.
Breaking the monotony of band performances,
the kids of JCMI showcased a Praise Dance
Number. Other breakers were the raffles
of door ticket prizes and the recognition
of sponsors. The New Generation then performed
their last 7 songs. As God’s presence
through His Spirit heightened, Pastor Roger
Inso, JCMI Senior Pastor, led the Altar
Call which resulted to a number of responses
either as first acceptance of Jesus Christ
or a revival commitment. The event ended
before 9:00 pm. An estimated audience of
at least 300 participated. Arnold Tanchico
and Jay Capistrano led the program.
The
JCMI Family is thankful for all attendees,
sponsors,
donors, performers and committee
members. Indeed, the Lord is truly pleased
with the contribution of everyone for the
building of His Kingdom in the Triad through
this event.
